East Carolina is coming off another win and another great attendance showing by Pirate nation. Last week Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium saw an attendance of 39,218 and with this weekend being homecoming there is hope for attendance near 40,000 for the third time this season. The Pirates play AAC opponent Tulane. Who despite being 1-3 has played pretty well this season, including a 5 point loss at Oklahoma in a game that was moved to Norman just days before due to hurricane Ida. Tulane head coach, Willie Fritz took over a team in 2016 that had won three games each of the previous two seasons. Coach Fritz has taken the program to three straight bowl games. This will be no easy opponent for the Pirates as they open up conference play on Saturday. -Phillip Pilkington
