Last year East Carolina finished the season off with one of the best offensive performances in recent memory. Against the Mustangs of SMU the Pirates scored 52 points and had nearly 500 yards of offense. In the two games the Pirates have played this season they have scored 19 and 17 points, are averaging just 322 yards and have committed four turnovers. They head into Marshall this weekend and will be facing a team that has only allowed 17 points all year. Pirate Offensive Coordinator Donnie Kirkpatrick was asked about getting back to the way the team played against SMU. – Phillip Pilkington
