Tonight the East Carolina baseball team will host Old Dominion in the midst of a four game win streak. The Pirates knocked off NC State last Tuesday before sweeping UCF over the weekend. The final game of the series was won in dramatic fashion as Justin Wilcoxen hit a walk off single in the bottom of the 12th, to extend the winning streak to four.

Tonight the Pirates will welcome a Monarchs team that is 23-8 and are looking to get out of a slump as they have dropped three of their last 4. The Pirate pitching staff will have to be at their best as the Monarchs come in hitting .314 as a team and have hit 62 home runs this season. The Pirate hitters could have some opportunities early as the projected Monarchs starter Landen Burch comes in with an ERA of 4.58.

The Pirates lead the all time series 36-31, but will be looking to avenge a pair of losses last year to the Monarchs as they lost 9-8 in 10 innings in Norfolk, and 8-7 in Greenville. The last time East Carolina defeated Old Dominion on the diamond came back on April 24th 2019.

Coach Godwin’s club will try to make in five in a row tonight so that they can have as much momentum as possible heading into the weekend series vs Cincinnati which will be the first of two series with the Bearcats.
